The petition of the undersigned, residents of the City of Kamloops and surrounding area, states that:
The planned construction of a 40-bed shelter at 1055 Glenfair Drive is an inappropriate location, this development to be halted immediately, and an alternative location selected.
The proposed shelter location lies directly along the public access route to Peterson Creek Park and is in immediate proximity to a cherished natural riparian area. This location poses significant risks to vulnerable populations\u2014including seniors, children, and a riparian ecosystem\u2014particularly as these stakeholders are unable to advocate for themselves.
Your petitioners respectfully request that the Honourable House to pass a Bill preventing BC Housing and the City of Kamloops from constructing any form of shelter at 1055 Glenfair Dr.
